Zelenski after 8 months of war: Ukraine breaks the second army in the world
Eight months into the war, the president of
Ukraine
,
Volodimir Zelensky
, has proclaimed that
Ukraine
"is breaking up the so-called second army in the world" and, from now on,
Russia
will be "a beggar" because in this conflict it has lost all its military, economic and political potential at a global level.
"Never again will
Russia
be a subject that can dictate something to someone. It no longer has the potential to dictate. The world sees that. The Russian potential is now being wasted on this madness: on a war against our state and the entire free world." ,
Zelensky
stated
in his usual late-night speech.
In his message on the occasion of the eight months since the start of the war,
Zelensky
assured that "
Ukraine
is breaking up the so-called `second army in the world, and from now on,
Russia
will only be a beggar".
"They are begging for something in Iran, they are trying to get something out of Western countries by making up various nonsense about Ukraine, bullying, cheating," he added.
In his reflection on the current situation in
Russia
,
Zelensky
has stated: "There was gas influence, not anymore. There was military influence, it is evaporating. There was political weight, now there is increasing isolation. There were ideological ambitions, now there is only disgust".
For the Ukrainian president, there has been a "very important change" in the geopolitical situation in Eurasia: "the more potential
Russia
loses now, the more real freedom all peoples will gain, both alongside
Russia
and within its borders;
Ukraine
in first place".

IAEA to send inspectors to Ukraine after Russian 'dirty bomb' accusations
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) reported Monday that an inspector mission will be sent to two nuclear facilities in Ukraine at the request of the kyiv authorities.
The dispatch of the inspectors is related to Russian accusations that Ukraine could use a "dirty bomb", something denied by kyiv.
The UN nuclear agency also has no indication of diversion of nuclear material or undeclared Ukrainian activities.
"The IAEA is prepared to visit these places in the coming days," said a statement from the UN nuclear agency.
"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is aware of the statements made by the Russian Federation on Sunday about alleged activities at two nuclear facilities in Ukraine," says the UN agency in charge of ensuring nuclear safety.
The director general of the agency, the Argentine diplomat Rafael Grossi, reaffirmed that these two facilities are "under the safeguards (controls) of the IAEA", and international inspectors have frequently visited their facilities.
The IAEA received a request from Ukraine on Monday for inspectors to travel to these two facilities to carry out verification tasks, in what appears to be a show of transparency from kyiv in the face of Russia's accusations.
